| National service is when the state recognizes the need for all able bodied men and women to perform a period of service for their state in the military. |
||
| While the strength of the professional army and general state of peace may imply that such service is not required in effect to procide the state with the necessary military skills, national service is critical in maintaining a close connection between the people and the military. | ||
