  Article 43- Training
43.1 General health of troops
Armed combat and battle are supremely difficult actions, requiring troops to sometimes be able to overcome physical obstacles and the enemy through their own human strength, without simply technology and weapons.
Therefore the fitness and health of the troops is of utmost importance. Unfit, fat and lazy troops are unable to respond quickly to immediate dangers, nor shall they commit with the full force required. Similarly, poorly fed and unhealthy troop will also similarly be less than effective.
Therefore a good general ensures that his troops are properly fed, rested and trained.
43.2 Fitness and intelligence
There is no benefit in training troops to perform like gazelles, capable of running and jumping, if the nature of war requires patient, slow movement and intelligent thinking.
Therefore, a wise general removes trainers who emphasize physical fitness above intelligence, and demotes trainers who seek to push their cadets beyond the reasonable expectations of fitness in war.
Instead, sound training emphasizes the ability for soldiers to make sensible decisions and actions when in motion, when tired, when stressed and encountering multiple sources of information and potential threat.
