Article 81-Political
will |
| 81.1 |
Political will |
| |
The first and most influential constraint imposed on a military concerning war is the political will of leadership. |
| |
If the leadership of a group or nation is not prepared to accept the violence and tactics needed to successfully prosecute war then the battlefield is ceded to the enemy where they can take advantage of such weaknesses.
| |
More wars have been started as a consequence of weak political leaders than those who were accused of being war mongers. This is because weak political leaders embolden their enemies to make plans and advances against weaker neighbour states. |
| |
It is the truth that evil thrives only when good men and women are prepared to do nothing. |
